Titania supports PWM on all eight protected high-side outputs, with a documented 1 to 50 Hz range, 0 to 100 percent duty cycle in 1 percent steps and configurable ramp, hold, minimum and maximum intensity parameters. Supported modes also expose PID/PWM settings and auto-tune control.

Appropriate loads

Potential applications include stack-light dimming, proportional average power, slow thermal control and time-proportional actuation. Confirm that the connected load tolerates low-frequency PWM and that switching does not create unacceptable noise, wear or electromagnetic disturbance.

Shape the output

  • Set frequency and duty cycle for the process response.
  • Use ramp-up and ramp-down to reduce abrupt change.
  • Apply minimum intensity where the load becomes unstable below a threshold.
  • Use maximum intensity and hold time to protect the process and output stage.

PID/PWM commissioning

Start with conservative output limits, smoothing and noise tolerance. Validate the sensor input, process lag and failure response before auto-tune or closed-loop operation. Keep an independent high-limit or safety function where required.

Thermal design

Evaluate simultaneous channel current, ambient temperature, enclosure ventilation and switching duty. The 0.7 A continuous rating is subject to the documented conditions and does not remove the need for system-level thermal verification.

Technical basis: Titania Modbus DI-8 DO-8 datasheet TTN-DS-2026-001, issued 19 July 2026. Confirm the current hardware, firmware and controlled document revision before implementation.
