A remote pump station benefits from both mechanical-condition intelligence and dependable field I/O. PyXis monitors triaxial vibration and temperature at the rotating asset, while Titania acquires run, trip, level, pressure-switch and pulse signals and can drive local indication or approved auxiliary outputs.

Field arrangement

Mount PyXis on the motor or pump bearing housing. Connect dry contacts, PNP/NPN sensors and pulse signals to Titania according to the documented input mode. Use Titania outputs for stack lights, sirens or non-safety auxiliary loads within the electrical limits.

Local and supervisory functions

  • Read vibration severity, harmonics, temperature and prognostic values from PyXis.
  • Read pump status, counts, frequency and switch states from Titania.
  • Use local alarm annunciation or simple interlocks where approved.
  • Forward consolidated data through the station PLC, RTU or gateway to central SCADA.

Failure behaviour

Configure Titania power-up and communications-loss safe values from the approved process response. Retain local visibility when the upstream network is unavailable. Treat a loss of condition data as an explicit data-quality alarm rather than a healthy state.

Maintenance workflow

Combine mechanical trend, operating hours, starts, trips and process condition in the CMMS. This gives maintenance teams a more complete basis for prioritising inspection, bearing work, alignment, cleaning and hydraulic investigation.

Technical basis: PyXis Smart 3-Axis Vibration Sensor TTN-DS-2026-002 and Titania Modbus DI-8 DO-8 TTN-DS-2026-001, both issued 19 July 2026. Confirm the current hardware, firmware and controlled document revision before implementation.
