Conveyors and geared drives often operate under variable load, contamination and long duty cycles. Failure may begin as a bearing impact, tooth defect, looseness or alignment problem before it becomes visible in production. PyXis can expose these changes through triaxial vibration, harmonics, order information and advanced diagnostic indices.
Asset-aware configuration
Configure the applicable motor frequency, gear ratio, gear-tooth count and bearing geometry where the firmware profile supports them. This enables engineering review of shaft orders, gear-mesh behaviour and rolling-element frequencies against measured spectral components.
Useful diagnostic evidence
- Trend gear-mesh frequency and sideband spacing.
- Review cepstrum gear index and harmonic consistency for repeating spectral structures.
- Use envelope kurtosis and spectral kurtosis to identify emerging impulsive behaviour.
- Compare axial and radial directions to help separate alignment, load and structural effects.
Conveyor operating context
Relate vibration to belt loading, start-stop duty, tension, transfer-point impact and known production events. A jam, slipping belt or material impact can create temporary energy that should be handled differently from a persistent mechanical trend.
Maintenance workflow
Use a warning to initiate inspection of lubrication, fasteners, alignment, belt condition and gearbox oil. Escalate only after trend, spectrum, temperature and operating state support the diagnosis. Retain before-and-after data following corrective work to confirm the response.
