Isolation reduces the transfer of fault energy and common-mode noise between field I/O, internal logic, communications and power domains. It complements—not replaces—proper earthing, segregation, surge protection and panel layout.

Panel layout

  • Separate low-level communications from contactors, variable-speed drives and high-current conductors.
  • Use short, direct protective-earth and shield-bonding paths where the design requires them.
  • Provide suitable fusing or electronic protection for field power and output groups.
  • Allow ventilation and spacing for the worst-case simultaneous output load and ambient temperature.

Transient and disturbance immunity

The documented Titania specification states protection levels for ESD, EFT and surge. System compliance still depends on enclosure, wiring, external protective devices, earthing and the final production declaration. Verify the delivered hardware revision and applicable compliance documentation.

Maintainability

Use labelled terminals, documented commons, segregated cable routes and accessible test points. Service LEDs for system, communications and channel states should be visible without disturbing field wiring.

Technical basis: Titania Modbus DI-8 DO-8 datasheet TTN-DS-2026-001, issued 19 July 2026. Confirm the current hardware, firmware and controlled document revision before implementation.
